Mooroopna Parish responds to urgent Social Issue.

The Goulburn Valley has a huge issue with the abuse of drugs and ICE.  The levels of domestic violence as a result are well above the State average.   The Parish Pastoral council at Mooroopna sees an urgent need to raise awareness and seek to address this critical issue.  Families especially with children at our schools need to be aware of the prevalence of this social scourge.

The public Forum that has been arranged will address the issue.  Jenny O’Connell is an experienced and well known counsellor.  She will speak about a new method of counselling which seeks to assist people affected by this scourge.   A parent will tell the story of a family coping with the issue.  Then a senior police officer will speak about the extent of the problem in the Goulburn Valley and the North East of Victoria.

The hope is that service clubs, sports clubs and the local aboriginal community will take advantage of this opportunity. An invitation is extended to parents from our schools and the broader community to attend.
Details of date and venue are below.  For further information contact St Mary's Parish, (03) 58252034
