Sandhurst Celebrates Synodality

The Diocese of Sandhurst celebrated suynodality with five video-email packages released over the Easter season in 2022.

The first package focused on the Chrism Mass as a liturgical expression of synodality.  This was followed by three videos each focusing on a specific theme of synodality: Participation, Mission, and Communion.

The fifth video featured Bishop Shane Mackinlay reflecting on what we learned from parishioners in these videos.  In this video, Bishop Shane noted the ways synodality is present in our everyday activities. He also highlighting the way synodality informs, not only the Synod on Synodality, but the Australian Plenary Council, and the establishment of a Sandhurst Mission and Pastoral Council.

Each Video was published on the Diocesan YouTube channel, promoted on social media, and promoted with a specific and targeted email.

Each email included:

An introduction: with a quote from the Synod of Bishops: Official Handbook for Listening and Discernment in Local Churches, n 1.4. explaining the theme, for example ‘Mission’.
