17 REPORTS work, we seek courageous renewal and the promotion of the human person through the provision of stewardship and leadership that are credible, contemporary, accountable, sustainable and transparent. We believe that education ismuchmore than a profession. It is a vocation, one that is based upon a service model, where all persons are valued and empowered to be their best. It is our goal to support Sandhurst schools as they nurture young lives and develop within each student a sense of faith, purpose and hope. Throughout 2021, we have worked to be faithful to a model based on the guiding principles of Mission, Stewardship, Dialogue, Subsidiarity and Co-responsibility. As Catholic educators, this focus serves to remind us on a daily basis that our ministry within the Faith must always be robust, hope-filled, service-oriented, ready to challenge, to uplift, to enhance and to improve. We seek to hold Christ at the heart of our work, to be faithful to the core business of learning and teaching, and to be enlivened by the teachings of the Catholic Faith. We in Catholic Education Sandhurst Ltd remain very grateful to: • both the Commonwealth and Victorian Governments for their generous financial support of the Catholic Sector; • Bishop Shane Mackinlay for his strong leadership; • Episcopal Vicar for Education, Fr Brian Boyle, for his ongoing positive presence; • all Sandhurst Clergy for the critical role each has played in the spirit, life and culture of our schools; • CES Ltd Board and SCECE&C Ltd Board and Committees for their deep commitment to our schools. Particular thanks are offered to Board Chairs, Mrs Patricia Cowling and Mrs Julie Cobbledick for their expert guidance as we ventured into this new model of governance. Pope Francis’ call to Catholic educators to strive for the fullness of humanity is woven into our Vision. Our Catholicity and our relationship with God remain central to our work. In 2021, we adopted as our theme for the year Faith in Our Future – a simple but clear acknowledgement that we are a people of hope, and we look to the future with confidence, knowing God wants us to be preparing for tomorrow, always learning, open to new ideas and new possibilities, filled with promise. To the future – excellence in learning, equity in educational opportunities for all and a deep knowledge and love of the Faith are what we will strive to provide for every student.
