46 CELEBRATIONS 6 April marked 90 years since the inaugu- ral meeting of the Shepparton Branch of Catholic Women’s League (CWL). Finally, on 21 January CWL members from Shepparton and across the state gathered to celebrate the many achievements of the Shepparton CWL. The generosity and organisational skills of these special women have had a positive impact on their community since the 1930s. As well as fundraising and charity works, the League offers members companionship and opportunities of shared faith. Catholic Women’s League Shepparton Celebrates 90 Years! 18 January was a special day for the Community of the Sons and Daughters of God in Dookie. Bishop Shane presided at Mass at St Mary’s Church and formally renewed a 5-year agreement for the Community to continue to use the Dookie Presbytery as their monastery. Their monastery is known as ‘St Augustine of Canterbury Monastic House’. 30 June, Marist Brothers Br Kevin Hoare and Br Xavier Collins were guests of honour at a celebratory lunch at St Kilian’s presbytery to commemorate their 70 years of service as professed religious men. 140 years of combined service for Marist Brothers Sons and Daughters of God still Call Dookie home.
