Sandhurst Youth Ministry (SYM) is a vibrant and dynamic arm of the Diocese reaching out to young people aged 15-35. SYM is committed to nurturing the spiritual growth and leadership skills of young people and strives to draw them into responsible participation in the life, mission and work of the Catholic faith community, empowering them to live as disciples of Jesus Christ in our world today. 2023 was a significant year for Sandhurst Youth Ministry (SYM). Thirty-five young pilgrims spent many months preparing for the World Youth Day (WYD) pilgrimage to Lisbon, Portugal; the Sandhurst Youth Ministry Reference Group was established and met for the first time; and Ruth Lawlor resigned as SYM Coordinator after five years of dedicated service. SYM aims to provide opportunities for young people to engage with their faith.
