Year in Review 2023 Catholic Diocese of Sandhurst 39 Sandhurst Mission and Pastoral Council Writing Team which wrote “Steps In Faith: A Parish based Approach to Sacramental Preparation”. Angela has worked with both adults and children in each of these endeavours, always focusing on teamwork, inclusivity, listening and acting. Fr Jackson Saunders Fr Jackson was ordained a priest of Sandhurst in March 2022 and is currently Assistant Priest at Shepparton. Born and raised in the Diocese, Fr Jackson was Youth Ministry Coordinator for three years prior to entering the seminary. He has visited and worked in every Sandhurst parish and has a love for and knowledge of the people in the Diocese. Fr Jackson is passionate about missionary and pastoral outreach and understands the importance of clergy and laity working together in a spirit of synodality in our parishes, schools and organisations. As a seminarian, Fr Jackson held leadership roles in Wangaratta, St Kilian’s and Echuca Parishes. Before entering the seminary, he held leadership roles at St Mary’s, Golden Square, and St Monica’s, Kangaroo Flat. Fr Stephen Bolling Fr Stephen was ordained a priest of the Diocese in September 2015 and is currently the Parish Priest of Eaglehawk, which includes St Liborius’ in Eaglehawk and St Mary’s in Inglewood-Marong. Prior to this appointment he was Assistant Priest at the Cathedral Cluster of parishes. Fr Stephen is an experienced administrator and holds a Bachelor’s degree in computer science and communication. He is familiar with technology which can facilitate effective communication and interaction with large groups of people; to find ways to better plan consultations in parishes which encourage dialogue, mutual understanding and positive outcomes. Technology aside, Fr Stephen is an advocate of authentic listening. Michael Chalkley (also Member of the Diocesan Finance Council) Mick brings his experience as a married man with adult children and a depth of experience in Catholic education and parish life. Mick is a parishioner of St Therese’s, Kennington where he has served as Chair of the Parish Pastoral Council and in ministries of Lector, Eucharistic Minister, singer, and Leader of Liturgy of the word and communicationwithout a Priest. As Co-Principal of St Peter’s Primary School for the past five years, he has also become active at St Kilian’s Parish, Bendigo. Mick is a member of the Knights of the Southern Cross and is involved with the Bendigo Interfaith Community and Bendigo Winter Night Shelter and, with his family, is an ongoing supporter of Caritas Australia. Mick worked at Catholic College Bendigo for 26 years in roles of Principal, Deputy Principal and Religious Education Coordinator and is well versed in Child Safety Standards, OH and S requirements and the governance structures within the church. Miggy Podosky Miggy is a teacher at St Peter’s Primary School in Bendigo where he is coordinator of Catholic Identity, Religious Education
