Praying with Pope Francis for Our Common Home

15 God of Hearts and Lives, when our hearts are open our sense of fraternity excludes nothing and no one. In diff erence or cruelty towards fellow creatures of this world sooner or later a ff ects the way we treat other human beings, for we have only one heart. Never allow our hearts to forget that peace, justice and the preservation of creation are absolutely interconnected, and everything is related. Amen. Based on Pope Francis’, “On Care for Our Common Home,” Laudato Si, paragraphs 92 Creator God, for human beings to destroy the biological diversity of your creation; to degrade the integrity of the earth, causing changes in its climate, to strip the earth of its natural forests or destroy its wetlands; to contaminate the earth’s waters, its land, its air, and its life – these are sins. Help us, fragile human beings, to replace consumption with sacr ifice , greed with generosity, wastefulness with a spirit of sharing. Teach us the way of loving, O loving God, of moving away from what I want to what your world needs. Liberate us from fear, greed and compulsion. Amen. Based on Pope Francis’, “On Care for Our Common Home,” Laudato Si, paragraphs 8-9 also quoting Patriarch Bartholemew, Everything Is Connected
