Praying with Pope Francis for Our Common Home

31 Everyday God, the Sacraments are a privileged way in which nature is taken up by you to become a means of mediating supernatural life. In our worship, invite us to embrace the world o n a diff erent plane, to notice water, oil , fir e and colours taken up in all their symbolic power, in our act of praise. Help us to see beauty everywhere: in the shape of a church, in sounds, colours, lights, and scents. Remind us that our human bodies in their inner nature are temples of your Holy Spirit, united with the Lord Jesus who took a human body. Enable us to see in the hand that blesses — an instrument of your love; in water poured over the body of a child in Baptism - a sign of new life. When we celebrate the Sacraments, may we be deeply present to the mystery of your presence and love, expressed in tangible forms that we can see, hear, touch or taste. May we know your Son, Jesus Christ, is close to us as he accompanies us on life’s journey. Amen. Based on Pope Francis’, “On Care for Our Common Home,” Laudato Si, paragraph 235 Living Each Day
