ishop of Sandhurst Les Tomlinson gave one of the Sacred Heart
Cathedral’s gargoyles a friendly pat when he joined stonemasons in
inspecting the condition of the stonework on June 1. Stonework restoration
experts from Cathedral Stone, Melbourne, conducted ‘make safe’ work as
part of the cathedral’s ongoing maintenance program. The stonemasons
have tested the veracity and stability of the stonework, with a particular
focus on the Cathedral entrances.
