Synod on Synodality

Synod 2021 2024 450
For a Synodal Church: Communion, Participation, and Mission

The theme of the upcoming sixteenth Synod of Bishops is: “For a Synodal Church: Communion, Participation, and Mission”.

Synodality indicates walking together and listening to one another but, above all, listening to the Holy Spirit.  Pope Francis invited all of the faithful, especially lay peope, at local Churches across the world to participate in active listening, dialogue and prayer durin the consultation phase of the Synod.

The Synod is phased over three years.  It started in October 2021 at the local level and will finish in October 2024 with the Synod of BIshops from across the world in Rome.
