Archives

The archive is richly saturated with surviving items and records that were primarily created within, or for, the Catholic Missions of Bendigo, Beechworth, Wangaratta, Echuca, and Heathcote and later (after it was erected in1874), the Diocese.

Canon Law requires that the Diocese maintains and protects the records of diocesan administration and the historical archive; ensuring that those records are clearly inventoried and made accessible for research. 

The archives office is open to bona fide researchers by appointment only.  To make an appointment or to make a general enquiry about archival resources please contact:
