Priests Retirement Foundation

The Priests Retirement Foundation for the Diocese of Sandhurst (“PRF”) was established in August 2001 by Bishop Joseph Grech, pursuant to Canon 281 of the Canon Law of the Roman Catholic Church.

Purpose
The PRF assists priests who have entered retirement by providing care and support including social welfare, maintenance, necessities of life and relief from poverty. This includes retired priests who are in necessitous circumstances such as infirmity, sickness, incapacity or old age.

The PRF supports over 15 retired priests in the Diocese of Sandhurst with this number expected to grow over the coming years as more priests reach their age of retirement. Though even in retirement some of our retired priests continue to serve our Diocesan faithful by the celebration of weekend masses in parishes.

Fundraising
The support provided by the PRF to our retired priests is funded from:
• An annual appeal held in September of each year
• Income from investments
pdf Legacies and bequests (2.34 MB)
• Other contributions from the Diocese of Sandhurst

Committee
The management of the PRF is vested in a Committee which includes representatives from the clergy of the Diocese, the Vicar-General, Diocesan Business Manager and lay persons. Current membership of the Committee is as follows:

• Fr Novelito Lim (Chair)
• Mons Francis Marriott (Secretary)
