Fifth Plenary Council of Australia

Plenary Council LogoDuring the first and second Assemblies of the Fifth Plenary Council, parishioners in Sandhurst were informed of progress with daily news and video updates from Sandhurst Plenary Members, Bishop Shane Mackinlay, Fr Joe Taylor, Fr Brian Boyle, Ms Cathy Jenkins and Ms Ruth Lawlor.

First Assembly October 2021

During the First Assembly, the Chancery became a hub for members to watch the online morning sessions of the First Assembly together, while participating individually in the listening and dialogue sessions with their designated groups online.  Sandhurst based facilitators, Dr Chris Cotter, Ms Audrey Brown and Mr David Walker also joined the Members at the hub. 

Daily Mass was celebrated in the Chancery with two exception of the first Sunday, celebrated at Sacred Heart Cathedral, and the Opening Mass of the Plenary on 4 October 2021, celebrated by Bishop Shane Mackinlay at St Kilian's Church Bendigo livestreamed as part of the official Plenary proceedings.
