Clergy Appointments for 2021

 

The following appointments take effect on 9 January 2021:

• Parish Priest of Echuca Parish: Rev. Pompeyo Tan PP (already announced)
• Parish Priest of Myrtleford and Bright Parishes: Rev. Tony Shallue PP
• Administrator of Cathedral Cluster (Cathedral, Golden Square, Quarry Hill): Very Rev. Brian Boyle EV
• Assistant Priest of Cathedral Cluster: Rev. Shibu Pezhumthottathil ALCP/OSS
• Assistant Priest of Cathedral Cluster: Rev. DJ Suguitan
• Assistant Priest of Wangaratta Parish: Rev. Nathan Verallo
• Assistant Priest of Wodonga Parish: Rev. Dean Bongat
 
The following parish priests have been reappointed for the customary period of six years:
• Euroa and Nagambie Parishes: Rev. Tony Hill PP (with effect immediately)
• Mooroopna Parish: Msgr Peter Jeffrey PP (with effect from 1 January 2021)
• Rutherglen and Chiltern Parishes: Rev. Brian Carey PP (with effect from 1 January 2021)
 
Late last year, Bishop Shane appointed priests to a range of positions in the diocese up to the end of this year.  He has now decided to renew the following appointments through to 22 September 2022, which is the conclusion of the term of office for the current College of Consultors:
• Vicar General: Very Rev. Joe Taylor VG PP
• Regional Deans:
      ◦ Goulburn Valley: Very Rev. John Paul Pasala VF PP
      ◦ North Eastern: Very Rev. Junjun Amaya VF PP
      ◦ Western: Very Rev. Novelito Lim VF PP
• Episcopal Vicar for Education: Very Rev. Brian Boyle EV
• Director of Vocations: Rev. Nathan Verallo
• Coordinator of Seminarians and Liaison with Corpus Christi College: Rev. Jake Mudge
• Director of Clergy Life and Ministry: Very Rev. Brian Boyle EV
 
As public liturgies have now resumed, Fr Minh Tran SJ has returned to assist in St Brendan’s Parish, Shepparton, where he is expected to remain for some months.
 
Bishop Shane is grateful to all those who have accepted appointments to various positions, and to those who expressed a willingness to be considered for appointment.  During this time of transition for both priests and communities, Bishop Shane asks us to remember in prayer all those who are involved with the changes.
