Career Expo Extravaganza

Careers Expo hero1

With a prime position as the first booth located inside the entry, Catholic Education Sandhurst was in a great position to engage students as they arrived.

Bright banners and branding, which invited school leavers to ‘find your place in Catholic Education’ provided a perfect conversation starter for staff to talk with school leavers. The bonus of free drink bottles, bookmarks and pens were an added benefit for those who visited the CES Ltd stand.

Some students were surprised to discover that there are many career paths available in Catholic education that extend beyond the vocation of teaching. The poster, bookmarks and video presentation on the stand spruiked the variety of career opportunities including speech pathologists, Early Childhood, psychologists, business managers and administrators to name a few.

The Tomorrow Bound Careers Expo highlighted the range of exciting courses, pathways, and employment opportunities available throughout the City of Greater Bendigo and beyond. Exhibitors covered a range of areas, including information about apprenticeships, tips on finding a job and the opportunity to talk to professionals about finding out what courses are available.

Catholic Education Sandhurst HR and Recruitment Lead, Rachel Mays says it was wonderful to have the chance to talk with senior students about their future.

“We encountered students who were still deciding what career path they might take, and others who had a clear idea of what they wanted to do. The expo enabled us to discuss the career benefits available to them should they choose to work in Catholic Education,” she said.

The Tomorrow Bound Careers Expo takes place each year in Bendigo and Catholic Education Sandhurst is sure to be there again next year, following on from the success of this year’s stand.

Thank you to the CES Ltd staff who volunteered at the Expo and to the organisers who provided such a valuable event for Year 9-12 students from across the region.
