Staff and all 35 students of Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Primary School in Elmore were hearing the cry of the earth and the cry of the poor, as they celebrated Mass on the bank of the Campaspe River in early April.
Troy Firebrace played the didgeridu and welcomed students, teachers, parents and guests to Country. Mass was focussed on the beauty of Creation and the call of Project Compassion.
Not every school can boast a singing, guitar playing principal like OLSH! The children sang beautifully with the cockatoos above raucously adding their voices. It was a beautiful spiritual experience to represent Caritas Australia and Catholic Earthcare at the event.
