Fr Rob Galea is reaching out to young people in places where they are, and for Generation Alpha, that’s the Metaverse.

His team at ICON Ministry is now spreading the Good News of Jesus Christ in an alternative universe through their MetaSaint game on ROBLOX.
The game was created out of a desire to help young people encounter the love of Jesus. “Jesus tells his followers to go, go into all the world and preach the Gospel to all creation [Mk 16:15] and MetaSaint is one way of following his command,” said Fr Rob Galea, explaining that this online outreach aims spread the good news to unreached young people in a way that is relevant to our times.

Generation Alpha use Roblox, the way their parents (generally millennials) use social media. Half of Roblox’s 52 million daily users are under thirteen and more than half of all children in the United States have a Roblox account. So, Fr Rob and ICON Ministry think it makes a lot of sense to evangelise in this space.

“If young people won’t enter a Church to hear the greatest story ever told – we must go where they are and communicate in a way they connect with. MetaSaint will bring the life-changing message of Jesus to a Metaverse generation,” said Fr Rob.

The MetaSaint game was created by ICON Ministry and Dubit, a digital game creation agency, with the aim of bringing the hope and love of Christ to a young metaverse generation. The game invites players to embark on an obstacle and treasure hunt journey, ultimately allowing users to become a ‘Meta Saint’. There are areas to explore and encounter the greatest story ever told interactively – God’s love for humanity. There are treasures to collect, bridges to be built across a fiery lava-filled chasm, unique features to unlock, ancient worlds to be explored and inspirational Saints to meet along the way. But, best of all; users will get to discover the person of Jesus and learn what he has achieved for all humanity.

MetaSaint is more than just a game; it’s a beacon of hope that will ignite hearts to be on fire for the Risen Lord and be witnesses to their generation.
