Year 12, 2023 graduate and Catholic College Wodonga dux, Simone Herzina was recently presented with a Victorian Premier’s VCE Award for outstanding results in Languages Studies – French.
More than 1,000 guests attended the prestigious ceremony in Melbourne, where Victoria’s top-performing 2023 VCE students were recognised for their outstanding results.
Representing Catholic College Wodonga, our own Hugh King, Simone’s French teacher in 2023, was able to join the crowd in cheering loudly as the Honourable Jacinta Allan, Premier of Victoria, presented Simone with her award.
Simone is now putting her outstanding French skills to work, having left Australia just a week ago to live and work in France for nine months as an au pair.
Well done to Hugh, and everyone involved in Simone’s journey at Catholic College Wodonga for supporting her to achieve her goals and satisfying her thirst for learning.
If you didn't already know, Premier Jacinta Allan was a student at St Joseph's Primary School, Quarry Hill and Catholic College Bendigo (now Catherine McAuley College).
