Project Compassion 2024 wrapped up on June 30, raising an impressive $9.7 million nationwide, matching last year's total despite ongoing cost-of-living pressures.
In Sandhurst $424,847.05 was raised, reflecting incredible generosity from our parishes and schools. While this year's total is about $85,000 less than last year's, the drop is due to three exceptionally generous individual donations in 2023. Overall, parish donations remained steady, and school contributions only dipped by 5.7%.
Diocesan Social Justice Coordinator, Kerry Stone, thanked contributors in a recent statement. “This year's theme ‘For All Future Generations’ truly came to life, thanks to the support of people in our parishes and schools. You've helped change lives in many impoverished countries for generations to come. Thank you!”
Participating in fundraising campaigns benefits not only the recipients of the funds but also enriches the lives of the fundraisers, fostering a sense of community, purpose, and fulfilment through their generous efforts.
