We’re excited to say, we’re officially opening the Mary MacKillop Gardens & History Trail. A significant portion of parish land has been regenerated with indigenous plants. Meandering trails have history panels along the way, one for each decade, starting with Mary MacKillop herself, moving through the years with the sisters from then till now. These panels display photos, historical records and stories of the Josephite Sisters who have served in Numurkah from Mary MacKillop onwards. We see how their lives were integrated into the parish and the life of the community bringing with them their unique charism epitomised by Mary’s, “never see a need without doing something”. Around 500 indigenous plants have been planted and are now flourishing.
