As part of the Jubilee Year of Hope, Bendigo Team 3 from the TEAMS Movement for Married Spirituality is inviting pilgrims from across the Sandhurst Diocese and beyond to a special celebration at the historic Mass Tree in Wahgunyah on Sunday, 23 November.
TEAMS is a worldwide Catholic movement that supports couples in their married life and spiritual journey. In this spirit of faith and fellowship, Team 3 has organised a Pilgrimage of Hope open to everyone—families, friends, parishioners, and all who feel called to walk with others towards a deeper encounter with Christ.
In the words of Pope Francis, “The goal of a pilgrimage is an encounter with Jesus ... we must prepare, pray and listen to Jesus as we journey.” The pilgrimage culminates in a Jubilee Mass at 12 noon under the ancient red gum tree, celebrated by Bishop Shane Mackinlay, with Monsignor Frank Marriott and Fr Peter Taylor concelebrating. Bishop Mark Edwards OMI and pilgrims from the Diocese of Wagga Wagga are also expected to join.
This sacred site—one of five official Pilgrimage Sites in Sandhurst—offers pilgrims the chance to receive the Sacrament of Reconciliation, experience spiritual renewal, and share in the grace of a special Jubilee indulgence.
After Mass, stay to enjoy a BBQ lunch by the Murray River, generously hosted by the Knights of the Southern Cross. Bring your picnic rug, your friends, and your hope.
Come and be a Pilgrim of Hope at the Mass Tree this 23 November. Everyone is welcome.
