Media Release: Statement from the Australian Catholic Bishops Conference, November 2012
The President and Permanent Committee of the Australian Catholic Bishops Conference, on behalf of the Australian Bishops, support the announcement by the Prime Minister of a Royal Commission into child sex abuse in our community.
Year of Faith
A Year of the Faith announced by Pope Bendict extends from October 11th 2012, the anniversary of the opening of Vatican II, until November 24th, 2013, The Solemity of Christ the King.
The year links with Australian Church's Year of Grace.
As with our ongoing faith journeys, a ‘YEAR OF FAITH’ is about ....
- Encounter with Jesus Christ Revealer of the God of Love
- Living Faith daily, and more deeply, in Charity and Hope, in our Prayer and Community Celebration of Liturgy
- Sharing the Good News of Jesus Christ (‘evangelisation’) to support others in finding meaning, hope and fullness of life in him.
